It's all about the simple things...

 All aboard the Appleland Train!!!

Every year we get together to go pick apples. The kids love it most of all they love the appleland train!! My favorite part is the general store, most importantly the fudge. It turned out to be a fantastic day and the weather was just perfect!!

Mason started swimming lessons, I didn't take any pictures during the actual lesson but here are a few from before hand

And here's one of how he fell asleep that afternoon, turns out swimming lessons are good for me too!!

Crochet!!

A few weeks ago I had the chance to go out with a bunch of other Moms for a crochet night. I had no intentions on learning to crochet, as I had tried years ago and just couldn't make the switch from knitting to crochet I was more interested in just getting out of the house to socialize with adults (running a home daycare and talking to children all day leaves me craving adult conversation) The first week was great, then the next week they got me to give it a try, and once I caught on I was hooked!! So here is my first creation. I messed up the back seam, but I know what I did so I can fix it for the next one, all in all I'm pretty happy with it especially considering I did 90% of it while watching my shows one night :)

Final Butterfly update

The last 2 butterflies hatched this week, the one that I posted about earlier that had the white face, came out looking like all the other butterflies. Still beautiful, but nothing that stood out to be different.

Unfortunately the last butterfly did not make it. When he hatched sometime on Sunday he fell out of the chrysalis and onto the bottom of the tank crushing his wing. When I finally saw him it was too late, his wing was all crumpled together and he could hardly keep himself holding on when hanging. I took him outside and set him on the tree in hopes that the sun/fresh air would help dry him out faster. I went out to check on him later and he had passed away, his wing ended up ripping so there was really no hope for him.You can see just how crumpled it was (this was right after I took him outside when I was still hopeful he'd somehow pull through) I don't know if it was a boy or a girl, I didn't have the heart to pull his wings apart to find out. So this one shall remain unknown

Final tally: 16 butterflies-8 boys, 7 girls, 1 unknown.

What a fantastic project though, I cannot wait until next year to do it again!! My daycare kids will be older then as well and hopefully will have more of a grasp of how amazing this whole thing is!!

Logan started out of the blue one today saying "I happy Mommy" it just warmed my heart, he's such a sweet hearted kid. He's always giving hugs and kisses randomly. I hope he always keeps this quality!
 Oh and I just love the look on his face at the end after Mason knocks some toys over in the living room.

My little man is starts SK!!! It's hard to believe that he's already been through an full year of school. He was very hesitant to go this year as he didn't like his replacement teacher last ear and he as bullied at the end of last year. Once he got to school he was really excited. Turns out he has a new teacher and the kids that were bullying him last year have moved up to grade 1. So he has a nice fresh start. It was really nice to see him get excited about school again!!
